This fund is in honor of Joe Troness, beloved husband of Tara, and father to Carter (9) and Mya (8).  Joe fought a courageous 16 month battle with lung cancer with bravery and determination that was enviable.  Joe loved to live and laugh and never took himself too seriously.  His goofy personality and quick laugh will be greatly missed.

Joe worked as the Director of Construction for Ryan Companies in Tampa, FL.  He loved his job and his coworkers and took great pride in his role.  Joe graduated from Moorhead State University in 2004 with a degree in Construction Management.  He went on to obtain his Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.  He was an active member of Leadership Tampa Bay as well as many volunteer positions throughout his life.

Joe was born on August 30, 1979 to Thomas and Arlene Troness of Sisseton, South Dakota.  As a young boy Joe loved construction and built himself a small work bench in his family’s garage.  He loved to work even then and held many jobs from a paper route to lawn mowing businesses.

In addition to his wife and children, Joe is survived by his parents Thomas and Arlene Troness, brothers Justin (Terri), Jesse, and John Troness; brother-in-law Jason (Brittany) Van Thiel; father-in-law David Van Thiel; two nephews and many relatives and friends.
