5K Walk & Fun Run
Join us for Breathe Deep Boston, a walk that brings our Breathe Deep community together for a morning of celebration, hope, and remembrance for all those affected by lung cancer. You may choose to walk with us in person at DCR's Baxter Park on the morning of November 5 or virtually wherever you’d like.
In 2006, two long-time lung cancer survivors, the late Rich Kaufman and the late Geri Norris, started the first walk in Boston with the support of a small group of family, friends, and volunteers also touched by lung cancer. Since then, this grassroots movement has successfully drawn thousands of participants and raised nearly $2 million for lung cancer research, as well as support resources and advocacy for those affected by lung cancer.
All walk proceeds have been for the benefit of LUNGevity Foundation, and we in the Breathe Deep Boston community are proud that Boston institutions, their physicians and scientists, are so well represented in the foundation's history of investment in research projects across the country.

Please send the name of your loved one (be sure to note if it is in honor or in memory), a photo, your city, and a brief paragraph to together@LUNGevity.org so we can include their name on our website Tribute Wall and digital program book.
While Breathe Deep Boston will be gathering in person on the morning of November 5, folks from all across the country will be walking in their own neighborhoods. If you decide to participate in Breathe Deep Boston virtually, you can tune into our live national broadcast, on Saturday, November 5 at 10 am EDT through the Charge Running app. This way, you will be able to snap photos to share in the live chat feature, track your mileage, and even hear your name as you cross the 5K mark!
If you are attending Breathe Deep Boston in person, you may choose to tune in while walking the course!
